Domopalooza 2025, held in Salt Lake City from March 18–21, 2025, lived up to its name of the "AI + Data Conference," by announcing the mainstream arrival of enterprise-grade Agentic AI to a data community from over 12 nationalities, including customers and key partners like Brooklyn Data. Domo proved once more that it’s committed to leading the business intelligence (BI) tool space by embedding BI and automation into a single platform that helps companies accelerate their digital transformation with the power of AI.

The most significant announcement of the event was the unveiling of Domo Agent Catalyst, described as the newest addition to Domo’s AI layer and the "ultimate AI toolbox" for creating intelligent, autonomous AI agents. Agent Catalyst provides users with a framework to build their own agentic AI within the Domo platform, enabling fully independent business processes while maintaining enterprise-grade security and governance. Unlike AI assistants that typically require direct human prompting, agents built with Agent Catalyst are designed to operate independently, using large language models (LLMs) to adapt to various situations intelligently and leveraging Domo-provided tools and data to solve complex business challenges.

Agent Catalyst removes the complexity traditionally associated with building agents, streamlining the process into just four simple steps:

  1. Selecting an LLM.
  2. Describing the agent’s goal.
  3. Providing knowledge sources.
  4. Assigning tools.

These steps are performed through a no-code end-user interface, democratizing this powerful feature for business users. The interface enables companies to move faster and leverage their subject matter experts to tackle and automate complex business challenges.

Domopalooza 2025 was not just about Agentic AI; Domo also shared several key enhancements as part of their platform maturity strategy, improving their AI layer offering with:

DomoGPT: Domo’s secure, hosted language model functions as the agent's "brain." It can also be embedded as an AI chat to help users get answers from their data, so business users can answer questions beyond what’s possible with their existing dashboards.

FileSets: A new (BETA) capability that utilizes Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to manage unstructured data such as PDFs, images, audio, and PowerPoint files, which provides agents with comprehensive knowledge for better context.

Semantic Layer: A new (ALPHA) tool designed to describe data relationships and business context that will help AI agents understand organizational connections and business logic.

Beyond the AI Layer, Domo announced enhancements around productivity, delivering on some of the most requested features from the data community, like the following.

Text Generation Tile in Magic ETL: A new (BETA) feature that provides no-code AI processing capabilities directly on the Magic ETL canvas for data transformation and enrichment using DomoGPT or the user's chosen LLM.

Automated Insights: An AI-powered analysis (BETA) feature that identifies key drivers behind business metrics and provides personalized observations based on user role and data permissions.

Magic ETL Updates: Features for improving the experience when building and managing data pipelines, such as:

  • A SQL Action Tile: To enable pro-code transformations.
  • Undo/Redo Capabilities: To improve the development experience, allow engineers to iterate while building quickly.
  • Snap-to-Grid: To enhance the layout of a transformation direct acrylic graph (DAG).
  • Tile Sections and Sticky Notes: To allow for a more transparent and collaborative development cycle.

Workspaces and Navigation Updates: (ALPHA) updates to provide a cleaner, more intuitive layout for quicker access to tools, allowing users to organize, prioritize, and personalize their workspace.

App Studio Updates: New features for building interactive data products, including:

  • New Table Element: A powerful yet user-friendly way to explore and directly interact with data in a spreadsheet fashion. This feature allows users to format, sort, aggregate, and add new columns to data seamlessly, directly from their apps.
  • App Components (BETA): Six versatile components and nearly twenty customizable templates so users can build polished apps in minutes.
  • Report Builder (BETA): Ways to simplify a user’s reporting process, with a high degree of customization, including headers, logos, and themes to align with their company’s identity, all ready to be scheduled and printed.

Cloud Amplifier Updates: New features designed to maximize the value of users’ data ecosystems by bringing the power of Domo to cloud data warehouses, such as Snowflake Schema Picker (BETA), Cloud Amplifier Pushdown Magic ETL (BETA), and Cloud Amplifier Integration Sharing (BETA).
